FASTENAL CONTRACT 09T-FAST-0406 CANCELED
Effective 12/12/10
Corporate Fastenal has requested cancelation of their Mohave contract. Effective, 12/12/10, no additional purchase orders will be honored under the Fastenal contract. Fastenal stated in their request to cancel the contract that the work of maintaining a national and Arizona cooperative contract in Arizona was not effective for them. Members are reminded that Lowes and HomCo Ace Hardware are other current options on this contract.

NO NEW ORDERS ON PARSONS’ MOHAVE JOC CONTRACT
Effective Monday, October 22, 2010
Parsons Commercial Technology Group, Inc., (Parsons) has informed us that they are modifying their business strategy, and as of 10/22/10 they will no longer accept new job orders. As such, we will not be able to process new orders under Parsons’ Mohave JOC contract, 09D-PARS2-0902.

This change will not affect any projects in process under Mohave contract 09D-PARS2-0902. Parsons has committed to completing all existing projects and servicing any amendments or changes to job orders that Mohave clients may desire and approve to complete work to their full satisfaction. Mohave’s other contract with Parsons for project management, 08G-PARS-1208, continues on and is unaffected by this change.

Members with questions about existing Parsons projects should contact Al Dreska, at 602-778-4409 for detailed plans for completion.

Troxell Communications, Inc., 10G-TROX-1001 direct order contract is on hold until their website is completed. Completion is anticipated no later than November 12th. In the interim, CDW Government or Safari Micro may be able to provide some of the products under the Troxell award.

SPECIAL TRAINING SESSIONS HOSTED BY ALLIANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE (ACE)
General Contractors, Subcontractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Attorneys, Vendors and anyone involved in APDM construction projects. The Alliance for Construction Excellence (ACE) will be hosting several special lunch sessions to explore the 2010 Alternative Project Delivery Method (APDM). Hank Traeger, who has authored the majority of the APDM legislation for Arizona, will lead the participants through the changes and new requirements of the SB 1406.

Mohave is working to execute its initial 3PPP contract award from last year and progress is good; however, Mohave has determined that there are too many unresolved processes and procedures for schools and other government entities to receive adequate incentives to issue/award another solicitation right now. Rest assured, we are working with state agencies, vendors, and others to stay on top of this matter and when it appears to be beneficial to pursue again, we will do so. We expect conditions for schools and government entities to improve dramatically in this area thus allowing for a solicitation in 2011. Stay tuned there is more to come on this issue. Due to low volume usage, Staples Contract & Commercial, Inc. (Staples) has declined an extension of Mohave contract A007-CRPX2-0228 for Office Supplies. As such, the contract will expire effective 2/28. We will review the possibility of rebidding early or adding some of the products offered under the contract to other existing contracts where practical.

This does not effect Business Interiors by Staples contract, 08J-CRPX-128 for classroom furniture.
