News
from ASPIN Food Services

Director of ASPIN
It
is important to note that the process changes at Mohave DO NOT
impact ASPIN procedures. The ASPIN accounting, ordering and
payment procedures remain the same. ASPIN continues to invoice
our members for Shamrock Foods purchases. Members will continue
to pay ASPIN for food and non-food products ordered through ASPIN/Mohave.
Our
annual ASPIN Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Friday,
April 11th at Humboldt Unified School District Office. Invitations
were sent to all ASPIN members the week of March 3rd. This will
be a fun and informative day! Please encourage the food service
staff to attend. It is our one opportunity to get together as
a group and plan for the year ahead.
The ASPIN staff and Executive Committee is hard at work compiling
product specifications and usage data for our upcoming RFP’s.
Our solicitation will be issued on April 11th with responses due
back May 8th. We anticipate heightened interest in our upcoming
solicitation due to our tremendous growth.
We
were very busy the month of February working with our members,
vendors and ADE officials
regarding the beef hold/recall. We appreciate
the efforts of Shamrock Foods to increase their inventory of
ground beef and other entrée items in order to meet the unprecedented
needs of our members. We appreciate our members understanding the
unforeseen challenges faced by Shamrock Foods and other distributors
during this extraordinary event.
We
have had several inquiries from school districts interested in
joining ASPIN for the 08/09
school year. As ASPIN grows, all
members benefit! 3/3/08,
BT
