Open House Invitation

to Members, Prospective Members and Contracted Vendors
Mohave Educational Services Cooperative, Inc., invites all of its members and vendors to say hello to the Mohave staff in Kingman on Thursday, April 3, 2008.  Let us say thanks for a great year and an even better future by joining us anytime between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM at our main office at 625 E. Beale Street in Kingman, AZ.

As many of you travel to the AASBO Spring Conference, stop in for a visit.  We will be serving light refreshments and taking visitors on the grand tour of the Kingman office.  We are just minutes from the freeway, and you will have easy access back on your way to the spring conference.  See <http://www.mesc.org/calendar/calendar_info/open_house_invite.pdf> for more information.

Our staff looks forward to seeing you on April 3rd!

Mark Your Calendars for Mohave Expo 2008

Mohave Expo 2008 has been set for Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Mesa Convention Center.  We are so excited to again be at the Center and Phoenix-Mesa Marriott Hotel for our one-day conference and Mohave vendor exhibition.  Member and vendor participation was superb last year (with nearly 90 vendor booths and over 450 attendees), and we are working towards a repeat performance.  We have taken your feedback from last year and are incorporating much of it into this year’s planning.

On or about April 1, 2008, you will be receiving your complete Expo itinerary and welcome information (including information regarding hotel room availability for members/vendors interested) and how to register for the event and your vendor booth.

Mohave’s staff is currently working to develop a theme and agenda that will make the event educational and enjoyable. This year’s Expo will also have a lunch menu very similar to last years which was rated “outstanding” by many of you.

How Does That Work?
Sue Watts, Accounting Manager
A purchase order audit procedure has been established under the new process to ensure contract compliance and to maintain the level of service that members and vendors have come to expect from Mohave. Find out how Mohave’s audit procedure works at <http://mesc.org/enewsletter/mar08/mohave_audits.html>.

Compliance Is in the Details
Why Is a “Proposal” Sometimes Not Enough?
Mohave requires a detailed quote for the price verification in testing for contract compliance. Detail examples include part numbers, labor hours, travel time, pass thru items such as bond, mileage, etc.

If a proposal gives a written description of the work to be completed and a proposal total, it will not be enough information for our verification. We will need a detailed description of materials, labor, and pass thru items to ensure Mohave contract compliance. For your own audit trail you too will need the details.  Please request a detailed quote from the vendor at the time your needs are assessed and send the detailed quote with your purchase order for the quickest MESC review.

Online Purchase Order Status Updated
