Having worked for Safford Unified School District as director of support services (1989-2001) and Murphy Elementary School District as assistant superintendent of business services (2001-2010). Before accepting the Cheif Financial position for Sacaton Elemntary School District. Paul Christensen is very current and familiar with all aspects of school budget and finance, school transportation services, school food services, school building and maintenance operations, and school procurement laws and regulations.
Previous to his school district employment, Christensen was a supervisor for CKC Construction in Safford, Arizona. He holds a BA and a Masters of Education with an emphasis in education administration from Brigham Young University.
Over the years, Christensen has been very active with the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO). In addition to serving as president and as the director of finance board member for the organization, he has taught budget and finance and accounting classes for AASBO for the past ten years.
Analytical and organized in business, Christensen is recognized by his peers as an excellent communicator with a great sense of humor and one of the most knowledgeable professionals in his field.
Christensen is community-minded as well. He served as council member for the City of Safford for four years and has conducted leadership training in many civic, church and job related positions.
These qualities and his willingness to serve the educational community in Arizona make Christensen an excellent addition to Mohave’s Board of Trustees. In July 2008, Christensen was selected as President of the Board.
