Sharon Brause
Procurement Officer City of Chandler
With a very solid and diverse public purchasing background, including work with Mesa Unified School District and now the City of Chandler, Ms. Brause brings a great deal of experience to her Board of Trustee position.
A Procurement Officer employed with the City of Chandler since 1998, she has a solid background in business and procurement management, with emphasis on contract negotiations. She has also completed her Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification as well as being a Certified Purchasing Card Professional (CPCP).
Prior to working in the procurement department for the City, she worked for eight years with Mesa Unified School District as a Buyer’s Aide. She also has extensive experience in the private sector with Bank of America holding various positions to include being an Assistant Manager.
In addition to her day-to-day duties with City of Chandler, she has been actively involved with the Arizona Capitol Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and has been the membership chairperson for several years. In fact, she received their prestigious honor of “Buyer of the Year Award” in 2008 and again for 2009.
Additionally, Ms. Brause has also held an executive board position on the statewide purchasing cooperative the Strategic Alliance for Volume Expenditures (SAVE) for several years. She currently balances her procurement career and other volunteer and family activities with studies in a pursuit of a degree in Organizational Studies at Arizona State University.
Throughout her career, serving as a mentor to those in public procurement and we look forward to her adding her touch to the Mohave Board of Trustees and the Mohave organization.
