Mohave Educational Services Cooperative, Inc., is the recipient of two prestigious public procurement awards.

The 11th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award® from the National Purchasing Institute was received by Mohave in 2006. Mohave has been successful in receiving this prestigious award each time it has submitted an application, with this being the third time Mohave has received the award.

In 1995, the National Purchasing Institute established a program designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) is awarded annually and was designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. This prestigious award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria measures innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.

The application contained 18 criteria and numerous sub categories for achievement. In addition to receiving an award, Mohave has received a report of its performance based upon recognized procurement standards. This report will give Mohave an indication of areas it excels as well as areas of opportunities for improvement.

Mohave is also accredited by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP). In 2005, Mohave received the NIGP Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award® which is effective until September 2007. Mohave has held this certification since September 2001. The NIGP Accreditation program formally recognizes excellence in public purchasing through a self-evaluation process. It establishes a body of standards that should be in place for a solid purchasing program.

These awards are excellent indicators of Mohave’s effectiveness in providing a quality procurement program for its members. Mohave serves nearly 400 members statewide with a membership that includes Arizona public school districts, cities, counties, community colleges, universities, and qualifying non-profit organizations.
