BACK TO SCHOOL: Welcome back! We are looking forward to another successful school year. Bette, Charlene, Steven, Dila and Bob are here to assist you. Together we can make this the best year yet!

ASPIN STAFF MEMBER: Bob Hickok started with ASPIN on Monday, July 31st as Member Service Representative. We are pleased to have Bob with us! Please join us in welcoming Bob to our team!

NEW ADDRESS: Please note that our new address is 4750 N. Oracle Road, Ste. 116, Tucson, AZ 85705. It is important to note that only the ADDRESS changed, we have the same suite number. Please be sure your accounts payable department has our new address.

NUTRITIONIST POSITION AVAILABLE: The Humboldt Unified School District is seeking a full time Nutritionist. Bachelor’s degree required, RD preferred. 218 day contract. Competitive salary and benefits. If you know anyone who may be interested, please have them contact Rick Littell at 928-759-5012.

SHAMROCK FOOD SHOW: Shamrock will be sponsoring a food show on August 9th from 9 – 4 at the Tucson Convention Center. You can register at the show!

ASPIN INVOICES: We are working to close all FY06 invoices. If you have any old Shamrock invoices that you have not received an ASPIN invoice for, please call Bette or Steven.

HOLDING FUND ADJUSTMENTS: We sent letters to those members that need to increase their ASPIN holding fund. As you know, the holding fund for each members needs to represent at LEAST 4 weeks worth of purchase volume with Shamrock Foods. Thank you for sending us a purchase order for the additional amount if it applies to your district.

FY07 PURCHASE ORDERS: Steven sent a memo to all members regarding purchase orders for the 06/07 school year. Please submit your 07 purchase orders to us so we can process food orders for your district.

ASPIN CPA ADDENDUM: PLEASE NOTE: Many of you have not yet submitted the revised CPA Addendum. It is important that all of our members are covered under the same agreement. The revised CPA Addendum can be downloaded from our website at http://www.mesc.org/aspin_signup.html. We will need each of you to bring this new CPA to your Governing Board for approval. Your current CPA Addendum will remain in effect until the new document is approved. If you have any questions, please call Bette in the ASPIN office. Thank you to those ASPIN members who have already submitted the new CPA Addendum!

PRODUCE STORAGE POSTER: Included as an attachment to this update is a poster that shows proper produce storage. Thank you to Shamrock for submitting this to us. We trust you will find this poster useful for your kitchen staff.

SHAMROCK MILK AND COLD STORAGE PRICING: Pricing for the month of August from Shamrock Foods is included as an attachment to this update.

THEME COOKIES: Included as an attachment to this update is a list of theme cookies that Shamrock will be offering this school year. If your district is interested in these products, please fill out the form and fax back to the ASPIN office.

MILK PRICING: Milk pricing from Shamrock Dairy for all counties is included as an attachment to this update.

8 OZ. PLASTIC MILK: Shamrock Dairy will be offering low fat milk in 8 oz. plastic bottles this year. The pricing follows: #132380, 1% chocolate, .26127; #032380, 1% strawberry, .2632; and #192380, 1% white milk, .2602

HOLSUM WHOLE WHEAT PRODUCTS: Please note that Holsum will not be producing the 100 percent whole-wheat products (sub rolls, hot dog buns, hamburger buns) until mid August. Schools with summer programs can still order the #206, multi grain hamburger buns. Product #148, 100 percent whole wheat bread will be available all summer.

ASPIN STAFFING NEWS: ASPIN is pleased to announce that Dila Justice started as Member Service Representative on July 10th. Dila has many years experience with customer service, particularly in the school food service area. We are also pleased to announce that Bob Hickok, Procurement Specialist, from the Kingman Office will be moving to Tucson and joining the ASPIN team as a Member Service Representative on July 31st. Steven Gord started the new position of ASPIN Invoice Specialist on July 1st. Charlene Johnson assumed additional accounting duties on July 1st. Charlene and Steven will be focusing full-time on our accounting functions. Dila and Bob will be working directly with our members regarding food and supply orders with Shamrock Foods. We are looking forward to being fully staffed in the 06/07 school year and providing our members with quality and timely service!

ASPIN INVOICE SPECIALIST: We are pleased to announce that Steven Gord has accepted the new position of ASPIN Invoice Specialist. He will be responsible for all ASPIN invoicing beginning in the 06/07 school year. We are looking forward to having this new position in order to manage our growth and be more timely with invoicing in the 06/07 school year.

MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES: We are pleased to announce that Bob Hickok, Procurement Specialist, from the Kingman office will be an ASPIN Member Service Representative starting July 31st. We are looking forward to Bob being part of the ASPIN team! We are conducting second interviews this week for the other position. We hope to have this position filled by mid-July.
