ASPIN EXECUTIVE COMMITTE MEETING: The next ASPIN Executive Committee Meeting will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 30th at the Mohave Phoenix Office, 5225 N. Central #218, Phoenix, AZ 85012. This will be a brief meeting to approve 05/06 pricing renewals. All ASPIN members are welcome to attend. If you would like to attend, please contact your ASPIN representative.

ASPIN INVOICES: We are getting caught up on all billing for the 04-05 school year. If you are missing any invoices please call your ASPIN representative.

ASPIN BIDS FAREWELL: Jim Wahlstrom, Food Service Director for the Prescott Unified School District and ASPIN Executive Committee member has retired and relocated to Texas to be close to family. We want to thank Jim for his service to ASPIN and we wish him the very best! Congratulations are in order for Barbara Van Fossen who has been named Food Service Director for Prescott. Way to go Barbara!

AEC VACANCY: Due to Jim Wahlstrom’s retirement, we have an opening on the ASPIN Executive Committee. If any of you are interested in serving the one-year term, please contact Bette.

ASPIN WELCOMES THREE NEW MEMBERS: Welcome to the City of Buckeye, the Dysart Unified School District and the Flagstaff Unified School District! We look forward to working with our new and returning members in the 05/06 school year!

ASPIN BID PRICING 2005/2006 SY: Pricing for the 2005-2006 school year will be available on line by July 1, 2005. We will also be mailing out hard copies to all members.

ASPIN CPA ADDENDUM: The revised CPA Addendum can be downloaded from our website at http://www.mesc.org/aspin_signup.html We will need each of you to bring this new CPA to your Governing Board for approval. Your current CPA Addendum will remain in effect until the new document is approved. If you have any questions, please call Bette in the ASPIN office. Thank you to those ASPIN members who have already submitted the new CPA Addendum!

ASPIN BID PRICING 2005/2006: Pricing for the 2005-2006 school year will be available on line by July 1, 2005. We will also be mailing out hard copies to all members.

ADE MEMORANDUM REGARDING WHOLE GRAINS: On December 10, 2004, the Arizona Department of Education issued a memorandum regarding the purchase of whole grain products. The AEC will address this issue in our bid renewal for the 05/06 school year.

HELP WANTED: The Liberty Elementary District has an opening for a Food Service Manager. The starting pay is $9.00 per hour/8 hours per day. If you know anyone that may be interested in this position, please have them contact Kathryn Austin, Food Service Director, at 623-327-2975.

NOI SEMINAR 06/09/05: Shamrock Foods will be hosting a seminar on NOI foods and all the latest updates regarding NOI. All approved manufacturers will be there to sample their NOI approved items. Leona Benally will also speaking on USDA NOI updates. Please call your ASPIN representative if you have any questions.

ASPIN BID PRICING 2005/2006 SY: Pricing for the 2005-2006 school year will be available on line by July 1, 2005. We will also be mailing out hard copies to all members.

3rd QUARTER INCENTIVE DISCOUNTS: ASPIN members earned a total of $17,222.17 in third quarter volume incentive discounts. The amount earned by your school will be shown as a credit on a future ASPIN invoice.
