AUDITOR GENERAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: We want all of our ASPIN members to know that all our contracts are valid and available for you to continue to use. Please visit the Mohave web page for more information about the report and Mohave’s responses. If you or your business office has any questions, concerns or needs additional information, please have them contact Bette at the ASPIN Office or Tom Peeler, Craig McKee or Mark DiBlasi in the Kingman Office. We want to thank all of our ASPIN members for their continued support.

ASPIN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING: Our next ASPIN Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd at 10:00 am at the Phoenix Mohave Office, 5225 N. Central Ave. #218, Phoenix, AZ. We will be discussing bid renewals for next school year. All ASPIN members are welcome to attend. However, space is limited so if you plan on attending, please let your ASPIN representative know.

SERVING IT SAFE CLASS: The will be a serve-safe class offered in Chandler on June 21st and June 22nd. The cost is $120.00 per person. Please call Marcia Archer RD at 928-713-8959 or Patty Narducci RD at 902-290-1491 for details and registration information.

ADDITIONAL SERV-SAFE CLASS: There is another serve-safe class scheduled for Friday, May 7th from 8:30 to 4:30 at the Mesa Child Nutrition Office. For more information, please call Bart or Melissa Christian at 520-744-1092 or toll free 888-838-1550.

SHAMROCK FOODS REQUEST FOR CREDIT/PICK UP: Please fax the ASPIN Office any request for product credit and/or pick up as soon as possible after your delivery. This will expedite your school getting the proper credit.

PRODUCT CHANGE: The following product is has been replaced. OLD ITEM – #2931341 – Sweetner, sweet n’ low packets 2/1250 pack – NEW ITEM #1927221 – Sweetner, sweet n’ low packets – 1/3000 pack. Price State - $20.69, Price Valley - $20.58.

JEANNE GALLAGHER: Jeanne Gallagher, a food broker from Creative Food Services passed away suddenly on April 9th. She sponsored our “mini food show” at Humboldt Unified School District on March 31st. All of us at ASPIN will miss Jeanne, her wonderful personality and commitment to Arizona schools. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

PRODUCT PRICE INCREASES: Included as an attachment to this Update is a list of product price increases. These price increases meet the terms and conditions of our contract with Shamrock Foods.

DISCONTINUED PRODUCT: The following product is no longer available from Simplot. There is no replacement product available. #8504791, Potato, Teezer breakfast, egg and cheese.

PRODUCTS FOR THE 04/05 SCHOOL YEAR: If any of you would like to see any new products added to our bid for the 04/05 school year, please let your ASPIN representative know. We will be requesting renewal pricing by the end of April.

RAINBOW PRODUCE PRICING: We do not have Rainbow Produce pricing for the week of April 12th. We will post the pricing as soon as we receive it from Rainbow Produce. Therefore, ASPIN will no longer be processing orders or paying invoices for processed commodities. All ASPIN members will need to pay the vendor directly for processed commodities effective July 1st. If you need any help with your orders, Bette will be happy to assist you like we have in the past!

ASPIN WELCOMES ANOTHER NEW MEMBER!: Welcome to the American Indian Christian Mission in Show Low! We are looking forward to working with Sherry Brennaman!

MINI FOOD SHOW: Thank you to all the ASPIN members that attended the mini show at the Humboldt Unified School District on Wednesday, March 31st. We want to thank Creative Food Service for hosting this event.

UPCOMING AASBO EVENT: The Arizona Association of School Business Officials is hosting their annual Spring Conference in Bullhead City/Laughlin on April 8th – 10th. Karma Jones from the Kingman Unified District and Rachael Terrin from the Tucson Unified District will be presenting sessions related to school food service. If you would like more information about the conference, please contact your ASPIN representative.
