AUDITOR
GENERAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT: We
want all of our ASPIN members to know that all our contracts
are valid and available for you to continue to use. Please
visit the Mohave web page for more information about the
report. If your business office has any questions, concerns
or needs additional information, please have them contact
Tom Peeler, Craig McKee or Mark DiBlasi in the Kingman Office.
We want to thank all of our ASPIN members for their continued

MARK
YOUR CALENDAR!: We are hosting
a “mini” food
show at the Humboldt Unified School District on Wednesday,
March 31st at 1:00.
Information about the show was faxed to all members last Friday. It is also
included as an attachment to this Update. Please call the ASPIN Office on Monday,
March 29th, if you can attend!
UPCOMING
AASBO EVENT: The Arizona Association of
School Business Officials is hosting their annual Spring
Conference in Bullhead City/Laughlin on April 8th – 10th.
Karma Jones from the Kingman Unified District and Rachael
Terrin from the Tucson Unified District will be presenting
sessions related to school food service. If you would like
more information about the conference, please contact your
ASPIN representative.
SHAMROCK
FOODS REQUEST FOR CREDIT/PICK UP: Please
fax the ASPIN Office any request for product credit and/or
pick up as soon as possible after your delivery. This will
expedite your school getting the proper credit.
NET-OFF
INVOICE OPTIONS FOR THE 04/05 SCHOOL YEAR: Included
as an attachment to this Update are the net-off invoice
processing options for next year. If you have any questions,
please call Bette.
PROCESSING
FOR THE 04/05 SCHOOL YEAR: The Arizona
Department of Education has issued awards for commodity
processing beginning July 1, 2004. Therefore, ASPIN will
no longer be processing orders or paying invoices for processed
commodities. All ASPIN members will need to pay the vendor
directly for processed commodities effective July 1st.
If you need any help with your orders, Bette will be happy
to assist you like we have in the past!
MILK
PRICING: Milk pricing for the month of
April for all zones is included as an attachment to this
Update.
PRODUCT
CHANGES: San Pablo Tortillas have replaced
Mission products at Shamrock Foods. Please note the following
product code number changes. 8 in. flour tortillas, Old

Unified School District on Wednesday, March 31st at 1:00.
Directions to the High School will be faxed to all members
that can participate. Jeanne Gallagher from Creative Food
Services will be showing us a variety of new products. We
are hoping many of you can attend! Please RSVP to your ASPIN
representative if you can make it!

Educational Services will be terminating their processed
commodity contracts at the end of this school year. We are
pleased the state was successful in awarding these contracts.

HOLSUM INFORMATION: Holsum Bakery will be
changing the bag on one of the items that our members order.
Item #226, 12 ct. hamburger buns will be substituted with
item #886. The product is exactly the same. They had an “overrun” of
bags with a Marigold label. They will be providing schools
with item #886 until they have depleted their bags.

FOOD SHOW: It
was great to see so many ASPIN members at the Shamrock Food
Show this past week!

FOODS PRICE INCREASES: The following
two products have price increases effective February 21, 2004.
#8001361, Bleach, 6/1 gal. Valley - $7.31, State - $7.44 and
#1930731, Taco Seasoning, 6/9 oz. Valley - $15.91, State -
$16.19. These price increases meet the terms of our contract
with Shamrock Foods.

note on your order forms that Shamrock has had a product number
change on the following product. Onion powder, OLD #1737571,

“ A” PROCESSING
SURVEYS: The “A” processing
surveys are due to the Department of Education on April 16,
2004. We will be faxing information to all ASPIN members as
soon as we can about net-off invoice processing options we
will have with Shamrock Foods next year. We are waiting for
confirmation from Shamrock about which processors and products
will be available. As soon as we receive this information,
we will pass it on to our members!
