March 31st at 1:00. UPCOMING AASBO EVENT: The Arizona Association of School Business Officials is hosting their annual Spring Conference in Bullhead City/Laughlin on April 8th – 10th. Karma Jones from the Kingman Unified District and Rachael Terrin from the Tucson Unified District will be presenting sessions related to school food service. If you would like more information about the conference, please contact your ASPIN representative. SHAMROCK FOODS REQUEST FOR CREDIT/PICK UP: Please fax the ASPIN Office any request for product credit and/or pick up as soon as possible after your delivery. This will expedite your school getting the proper credit. NET-OFF INVOICE OPTIONS FOR THE 04/05 SCHOOL YEAR: Included as an attachment to this Update are the net-off invoice processing options for next year. If you have any questions, please call Bette. PROCESSING FOR THE 04/05 SCHOOL YEAR: The Arizona Department of Education has issued awards for commodity processing beginning July 1, 2004. Therefore, ASPIN will no longer be processing orders or paying invoices for processed commodities. All ASPIN members will need to pay the vendor directly for processed commodities effective July 1st. If you need any help with your orders, Bette will be happy to assist you like we have in the past! MILK PRICING: Milk pricing for the month of April for all zones is included as an attachment to this Update. PRODUCT CHANGES: San Pablo Tortillas have replaced Mission products at Shamrock Foods. We are hoping many of you can attend! Please RSVP to your ASPIN representative if you can make it! The awarded companies are listed in the commodity processing catalog on the ADE website. Also, when you complete your processing surveys, awarded companies for that product will be listed on the survey form. All Arizona school districts are eligible to use these contracts. Mohave Educational Services will be terminating their processed commodity contracts at the end of this school year. We are pleased the state was successful in awarding these contracts. If you have any questions, please call Bette. IMPORTANT HOLSUM INFORMATION: Holsum Bakery will be changing the bag on one of the items that our members order. Item #226, 12 ct. hamburger buns will be substituted with item #886. The product is exactly the same. They had an “overrun” of bags with a Marigold label. They will be providing schools with item #886 until they have depleted their bags. AEC and AAC MINUTES: The minutes of the February 13, 2004, ASPIN Executive and Advisory Committee meetings are included as attachments to this UPDATE. SHAMROCK FOOD SHOW: It was great to see so many ASPIN members at the Shamrock Food Show this past week! IMPORTANT HOLSUM INFORMATION: Holsum Bakery will be changing the bag on one of the items that our members order. Item #226, 12 ct. hamburger buns will be substituted with item #886. COLD STORAGE: Cold storage pricing for March for Shamrock Foods is included as an attachment to this UPDATE. SHAMROCK FOODS PRICE INCREASES: The following two products have price increases effective February 21, 2004. #8001361, Bleach, 6/1 gal. Valley - $7.31, State - $7.44 and #1930731, Taco Seasoning, 6/9 oz. Valley - $15.91, State - $16.19. These price increases meet the terms of our contract with Shamrock Foods. We will be faxing information to all ASPIN members as soon as we can about net-off invoice processing options we will have with Shamrock Foods next year. We are waiting for confirmation from Shamrock about which processors and products will be available. As soon as we receive this information, we will pass it on to our members!
