USDA GROUND BEEF RECALL: Members were notified by ADE about recording and destroying A594 – coarse ground beef and A608 – fine ground beef. Processed commodity items need to be verified by the processor. SHAMROCK DAIRY PROMOTION: Attached to this update is a promotion offered by Shamrock Dairy. Contact information is listed on the attachment. KELLOGG’S PROMOTION: Attached to this update is a flyer about a promotion Kellogg’s is having. Take a look and maybe you can take advantage of the program! FY 07/08 COMMODITIES: The Department of Education has distributed the remainder of your 08 entitlement. of February 11, 2008 | USDA GROUND BEEF HOLD: Members were notified last week about a hold placed on A594 – coarse ground beef and A608 – fine ground beef. Both Shamrock Foods and US Foodservice are holding these products. If you have these products in your inventory, you must not use them until notified by the Arizona Department of Education. This hold also impacts processed commodities including fee for service and net off invoice products. Shamrock Foods is working hard to accommodate ground beef orders. However, due to the increased demand, it may be necessary to change your menus. MORE ON USDA GROUND BEEF HOLD: ADE sent a memo on 02/07/08 stating they needed you to report your inventory of these products to them by last Friday, 02/08. This memo is attached to the update for your information. ASPIN OFFICE CLOSED: The ASPIN office will be closed on Monday, February 18th in observance of President’s Day. Please work with your ASPIN representative to plan your orders. SHAMROCK DAIRY PROMOTION: Attached to this update is a promotion offered by Shamrock Dairy. AEC MEETING: The next ASPIN Executive Committee meeting will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, February 21st at the Glendale Elementary District Office, 7301 N. 58th Ave. Glendale, AZ 85301. All members are welcome but space is very limited. Please call Bette if you would like to attend this meeting. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Shamrock Foods is hosting a school food show on Thursday, February 21st at the Glendale Civic Center in Glendale from 11 – 2:30. This is always a great show! Registration information is included as an attachment to this update. We hope to see many of you there! All of us from ASPIN will be attending this show. Please work with Bob and Dila to schedule your orders accordingly. KELLOGG’S PROMOTION: Attached to this update is a flyer about a promotion Kellogg’s is having.
