MOHAVE PROCESS CHANGES: Your district may have received an e-mail from Mohave Educational Services Cooperative last Friday regarding process changes for Mohave orders. Those changes are scheduled for implementation on January 1, 2008.

It is important to note that the changes at Mohave WILL NOT have an impact on ASPIN processes. We will continue with our current order and payment processes. This change applies ONLY to Mohave purchases. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

AAC MEETING: Our Annual ASPIN Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for 10:00 at the Doubletree Paradise Valley, 5401 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale on Wednesday, March 14th. Our meeting will take place immediately before the Shamrock School Showcase. Please make plans to join us that day! It will be a great opportunity to meet all of the ASPIN staff and attend the school food show. We have included the ASPIN invitation as well as the Shamrock invitation with this update. Please RVSP to your ASPIN representative if you can attend!

SPECIAL ORDERS: When you need to place special orders with Shamrock Foods (items that not regularly stocked) they need you to place your requests a minimum of 3 weeks ahead of time. They try their best to schedule delivery of special items but the more lead-time you can give them, the better they can meet your requests.

ASPIN CPA ADDENDUM: Some of our members still have not completed the revised CPA Addendum. Bette will be notifying these members. It is very important that all of our members have the same agreement. Thank you to our members that have submitted this documentation already.

RAINBOW PRODUCE PRICES: Pricing for this week is included as an attachment to this update.

SHAMROCK PRODUCE PRICES: Shamrock produce pricing is now effective from Saturday to Friday. Please note the dates on the pricing attached with this update.

PRODUCT INFO: Included as an attachment to this update is some product information from Shamrock Foods.

MILK AND COLD STORAGE: Pricing from Shamrock Foods for milk and cold storage items for the month of March is included as an attachment to this update.

MILK PRICING: Milk pricing for all counties from Shamrock Dairy for the month of March is included as an attachment to this update.

DOLE RECALL: Dole Fresh Fruit Company announced a recall of the imported cantaloupes due to potential salmonella contamination. It is important to note that cantaloupes provided by Shamrock Foods ARE NOT affected by this recall. Consumers with questions should call the store where they bought the cantaloupes or contact Dole at 800-232-8888. The cantaloupes affected by the recall were distributed to the eastern United States and the province of Quebec.

PRESIDENT’S DAY: The ASPIN office will be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of President’s Day. Please be sure to plan your orders accordingly with your ASPIN representative.

SPRING COOKIES: Attached is the information for pre-ordering St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Cookies. These cookies are pre-baked and decorated! Also attached is a flyer so that you can see what these cookies look like as well as nutritional information for the Shamrock and Bunny cookies. Since St. Patrick’s Day will be here soon, the last day to place an order for these cookies is NEXT Friday, 02/16/07.

These cookies are delivered in one huge shipment and are not pre-sorted by district. It is strongly suggested that you accept your pre-ordered cookies as soon as they become available through Shamrock Foods.

Due to the late notice for St. Patrick’s Day Cookies please feel free to either call or e-mail Charlene your pre-order if you don’t have time to fax it back to her.

If you would like to attend this meeting, please let Bette know. Thank you to our members who have expressed an interest in serving on our committee. We will be in touch with you in the near future!

PROCESSING SURVEYS DUE: Don’t forget your planned usage and cheese processing surveys are due to ADE by February 12th. Charlene has sent this information to our members that we assist with USDA commodities. Thank you to our members for returning that information to Charlene as soon as possible.

2ND QUARTER VOLUME DISCOUNTS: Our members earned $35,487.82 in volume incentive discounts for the 2nd quarter from Shamrock Foods. If you earned a discount, it will be reflected as a credit on a future ASPIN invoice for Shamrock Foods.

AMPHIRE ORDERING SYSTEM: We are now in Phase 2 of offering the AMPHIRE ordering system to our members. The members that are currently using the system really enjoy it. If you would be interested in using this on-line ordering system in the future, please let your ASPIN representative know!

ASPIN INVOICES: Some of our members are paying off the Shamrock invoices, not the ASPIN invoice. Please speak to you’re a/p person to be sure they pay off the ASPIN invoice. Because each ASPIN invoice includes a quick pay discount, your district is OVER paying each invoice if you are not paying off the ASPIN invoice!
