VETERAN’S
DAY HOLIDAY: The ASPIN Office will be open
on Monday, November 10th and Tuesday, November 11th to meet
the needs of our members.
THANKSGIVING
PRODUCTS: It is not too early to be planning
your holiday meals! Be sure to order pies, turkeys, stuffing
etc. ahead of time from Shamrock Foods. By ordering early,
you can be assured of receiving the product you want for
your holiday meals.
THANKSGIVING
HOLIDAY: The ASPIN Office will be closed
on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th in observance
of Thanksgiving. Those of you with Monday and Tuesday deliveries
after the holiday, be sure to have your orders into the ASPIN
Office by Tuesday, November 25th. Thank you to all members
for planning ahead!
SHAMROCK DAIRY
PRICING: Shamrock Dairy pricing for the month of November for
all counties is included as an attachment to this update.
SERVE-SAFE
CLASSES: Do
you have staff members that are in need of Serve-Safe certification?
Please notify Bette if you would like ASPIN to arrange for
a Serve-Safe certification course to be offered in January.
SHAMROCK
INVOICES: We have worked out a new system
of receiving invoices from Shamrock Foods. We are confident
that we will be able to invoice our members for Shamrock
purchases in a timelier manner.
ASPIN
INTERNET ORDER SYSTEM: Thank
you to all of our members who are using our internet order
system! If you have not tried it already, give us a call!
It is real easy to set you up for on-line ordering! One of
the greatest benefits to this system is that you can submit
your order anytime and we are notified by e-mail when your
order has been placed. It is a very efficient way for us
to receive your orders. Call Charlene, Terry or Bette for
more information!
ORDERS: Due
to the large number of orders we are processing, we need you
to place your orders TWO days before your delivery day. Thank
you to all members for making sure you place your orders two
days before your delivery day.

our expanded website and want to thank Carol Pashano in the
Kingman Office for her efforts to make this a reality! We
would love to hear your comments about the expanded website!
CHANGES
IN THE ASPIN OFFICE: Angelique Thornton has
resigned from her position of ASPIN Member Services. Charlene

a replacement. If you know of anyone who might be interested
in working at ASPIN, have them call Bette.

CHANGES
AT SHAMROCK FOODS: Bobbi
DeMarco, our school specialist at Shamrock Foods for the
past 3 years has taken
a different position within the company. We have enjoyed
Bobbi’s pleasant and professional demeanor and her
extraordinary efforts to serve our member districts. We wish
her nothing but continued success in her new position. We
welcome Julie Bujan as our new school specialist and look
forward to working with her. A letter from Shamrock Foods
is included with this update.
NEW FORMAT FOR OUR UPDATE: We
hope to be able to publish our weekly update on the Mohave website
in the near future. By having the UPDATE on our website, we will
be able to save money for all of our members! We thank Carol Pashano
in the Kingman Office for her efforts to help this become a viable
option for us. If gaining access to the world wide web will be
a problem for any of you, please contact Bette.
AEC MINUTES: The minutes from the ASPIN Executive Committee meeting
of September 9, 2003 are included with this update.
AZSFSA CONFERENCE: If
you are planning to attend the ADE Commodity Processing Workshop
in Tucson on Friday, October 24, the Arizona School Food Service
Association hopes that you will consider “staying on” for
the annual state conference that evening and all day Saturday.
If you won’t be at the workshop, head to Tucson for the conference
anyway! This year’s theme is “Celebrating SMART Kids” (School
Meals: Achieving Results Together.) This is a great opportunity
to improve your personal and professional skills, network and exchange
ideas with other school food service professionals and get re-energized
for your very important job. Contact Lois Stansbury, AzSFSA Executive
Secretary, for further information: 623-877-8252 or 1-866-402-3908
(toll free) or e-mail to azsfsa@cox.net. NOTE: AzSFSA has extended
the “early bird” registration deadline to Friday, October
10th for ASPIN members only! Save $$$ on your registration fee!
