RISING PRICES: As you have seen on the news and at the pumps recently, food prices are increasing dramatically. Dairy is up almost 30 percent, grains are up almost 20 percent and fuel is at an all time high. We are the strongest position possible to receive competitive pricing for the 08/09 school year because all of our contracts are expiring and we have new solicitations in process. However, it would be unrealistic to expect that food costs will not increase significantly next school year. We will monitor our pricing to be sure it is as competitive as possible under the current economic conditions. It is very important for schools to raise the cost of a "paid" meal to ensure you cover all costs. Our proposals are due back May 8th. We should have pricing for 08/09 to all members by the end of May.
END OF YEAR: It is hard to believe another school year is almost over! As you get ready for your summer break, please be sure to work with Steven to be sure all of your ASPIN invoices have been submitted for payment.
NEW YEAR PURCHASE ORDERS: It is important to remember we will have new contracts for all categories for the 08/09 school year. We will send you the new Mohave contract numbers for your purchase orders in early June.
ASPIN WELCOMES ANOTHER NEW MEMBER!: Welcome to the Town of Chino Valley Senior Center! They will start ordering in mid-May. We look forward to working with Cyndi and her staff!
FY 08/09 ASPIN HOLDING FUND BALANCES: After the end of June, Bette and Steven will be working with members to adjust their holding fund balances. Due to growth and increased costs, some of our members may need to increase their holding fund balances for the 08/09 school year.
